Hyde Street

Excellent bones, a desirable residential area, and dramatic volumes make the Garage on Hyde one of The City's most exciting residential remodels.

The architects, and developer John Parker Willis devised the project with the aim of preserving the historic features of the building's industiral past such as window design, street level openings, and materiality, while inserting distinct, but quiet, new spatial blocks and finishes.

The Japanese refer to "wabi sabi" as the aesthetic of the simple and quiet (wabi) coupled with materiality that has visible history, age, wear and patina (sabi). In this spirit, the building was touched only in the ways necessary for practicality while allowing its history to be present whenever possible.
